How to Build Your Boat

Things You Must Bring:
4 CLEAN equal sized half gallon cartons with tops attached. 

Can be milk, juice, etc. but must be cardboard and with the screw top. 

This year Manorhaven & Sousa will be doing the boat building during school hours.  

For other students, schedule a time to meet at the library for your boat consturstion here:

Parent participation is required.  This is not a drop off event.

Building instruction is in person at the Port Washington Public Library, downstairs in the Lapham Room. 

Building dates are:

Attend one (1) session in person to construct your sailing vessel. Allow a minimum of 60 minutes. Could take more, could take less.

Things We Will Provide:

Instructors to guide the boat builders;
Materials to compile the cartons and for the mast and sail. 

Race Day is Sunday, June 7 at Baxter’s Pond at Shore Road & Central Drive. 

Several heats will take place beginning at 10:00 am at 15 minute intervals. 

Registration is required.
